NINE CHAMPIONSHIP COURSES · ALL WITHIN THIRTY KILOMETRES

Hua Hin is home to Thailand’s oldest golf course and Asia’s most photographed par-3. Both are just a few minutes from Swiss Baan Chiang.

HISTORY

A Century in Play

Golf arrived in Thailand in 1924, when Scottish railway engineers carved an 18-hole course into the rocky landscape of Hua Hin — a way to “unwind” after work.

The course they built — Royal Hua Hin — still exists today. Located just five minutes from the train station, it has remained virtually unchanged and is played daily. The town that grew up around it has since served as the summer residence of the Thai royal family and is considered one of the country’s most peaceful seaside retreats.

Today, nine world-class golf courses lie within thirty kilometres of Swiss Baan Chiang. Phil Ryan’s Black Mountain stretches north into the hillscape. Further north, towards Cha-Am, lies the Jack Nicklaus-designed Springfield Royal. In the picturesque hinterland, Pineapple Valley awaits — laid out on a former pineapple plantation — while Sea Pines hugs the coastline to the south. All courses are playable year-round and feature excellent Bermuda grass fairways.
